2004-01-31 by amh0159

Hi

I've installed QTR under linux and can successfully print a test
page from CUPS. However whenever i try to print a grayscale TIF i
get the following errors (debug turned on in CUPS).

Can anyone help please....thanks Alan

Hi Alan,

Your error_log shows where the problem is. The program imagetoraster
has caused problems for several people on different systems. The
solution that has worked for others is finding a different way to rasterize
the image. There is a file in the distribution called quad.convs -- if you
have not used this already it may solve the problem. Place it in the
/etc/cups directory and then restart the cups daemon -- if you don't
know how rebooting is the easiest. Try this and see if it works.

If not send me ( quadtone<at>harrington.com) a copy of all the files
in /etc/cups with either .types or .convs extention and an ls -l of
/usr/lib/cups/filter -- I'll figure out how to modify them.

Roy

Thanks Roy

I copied the quad.convs program over to /etc/cups and restarted
cupsd. However cups is still using imagetoraster according to the
log file. Do any scripts have to changed to point to quad.convs?

Thanks Alan

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
