Want a free profile for a great paper?
2001-10-13 by Steadman Uhlich
I completely agree with Robert here and encourage you Piezographers out there to send a message email to Jon Cone (and Bill Bergh) requesting that they provide a profile for the Eclipse paper. Eclipse is a great paper that deserves a profile. If properly profiled, I believe many of you would like to use it for your PiezoBW work. (I currently use it for PiezoColor work with success). The "test" that Robert is discussing below only proves that the paper can produce a deep black. But a real profile is what is needed to get the tonality we all want. In addition to Eclipse, I would encourage you to ask Jon & Bill (Jon Cone is out of country now) to profile the following paper and have them included as a profile update for download: Hahnnemuhle PhotoRag I believe they will provide something if enough printers request the paper. In order to facilitate this, I suggest everyone use the same Subject line in their email. I suggest: "Customer Request for Paper Profile" That way, they can quickly gauge the response/need while scanning the hundred plus emails they get every day. Steadman

Thanks Martin. Its critical to note that this may demonstrate the potential
of the paper but it is not an answer...remember...all you are doing using
this method is printing with black ink (no gray inks--its not a quad tone
print)...we need a real profile for this paper...so please...everyone who
would like to use PiezoBW with Eclipse papers email Jon to request it.
