Paul: just wondering if there are any updates on how this is progressing and 
when MIS might start selling UT-2 cartidges for the 9600 in particular.

I don't know.

What I do know is that a huge volume of UT-2200 is being mixed now.

So, I assume this will find its way into the various 2200, etc. outlets
fairly soon.

I'll let you know as soon as MIS tells me products are posted on the web.
They can't sell it until the web lists the particular product.

I use the 2200, what is a UT-2 cartridge?

There will be MIS UT2 inks available for the 2200 soon.  They will have the
same basic characteristics as the 1280/90 & 890 UT2 inks.  See my "readme"
file, reached through the second URL, below.
