A monitor shopping question

A monitor shopping question

2004-02-08 by awahlster

i'm starting to look for a second monitor to use for my digital
darkroom work. First let me just say that I can't/won't pay more then
$250.00 for a monitor I realise this might serverly hamper my chances
of buying the best. BUT I do want to buy the best I can get for what
I will spend.

So a couple of questions is a monitor with a 17" CRT flat screen with
a .24mm dot pitch better then a 19"CRT with .25mm dot pitch?
I currently have a 17" gateway NO idea of the dot pitch.

I am going to set up a PC dedicated to only photo editing NOTHING
else. I have my current machine for that other crap. So I'm looking
for a monitor to use with it.

I have looked at a HP S7500 17" it has a 24mm dot pitch and a couple
of the NEC monitors with 17 and 19" screens and .25mm dot pitch.

So any recomendations ???

Thanks Mark W.

Go for a 19"....or larger and have a shufty at the LaCie range for both
quality and price advantages.

Hi Mark,
With your $250 budget, I'd go with the 19" NEC.
They seem to be economical, good quality and reliable.
