Lyson Inks Inquiry

Lyson Inks Inquiry

2004-02-08 by nsams2002

I thought I might give the Lyson inks a try for my black and white
work. I see that they have both a Quad Black, and a Small Gamut
set. Comments on these would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Norm-

I've used and liked the LSG inks over the years. I use pigment inks
more often, but there is still no way to make a great glossy print
with anything but dye inks IMHO <g>.

Lyson now claims 75 year life for LSG...no where near as good as
pigments, but not bad.

You will enjoy what you can do with them.

cheers,

I've used them as well and love them in my S9000. With the new Lyson
Archival Matte and Glossy Papers, we are talking 75-100 year printlife.

I've also tested the new Lyson papers with other inksets (including
MIS's) and have some very interesting findings which I will post tomorrow.

I will say this much, the surface on their new Archival Glossy paper is
the closest thing I've seen yet to the look of a traditional silver
air-dried FB print.

I've been using Lyson Quad Black Neutral carts with an Epson
1160 for a few years with good results, mostly with EEM. I'm
*very* interested in Lyson's new Archival Glossy paper, and look
forward to your results/opinion.
