Has anyone heard anything about this new printer:

Canon extends colour range with new printer
[MacUser] 12:27

Canon has introduced the 'world's first' eight-colour A3 printer, the 4800x=
2400 Bubble Jet
i950.

In addition to the standard CMYK inks and the increasingly common light cya=
n and light
magenta, the i9550 has red and green inks, which should increase the total =
colour range
that the printer is capable of reproducing. A significant proportion of red=
s and greens fall
outside the gamut of traditional CMYK printers.

The printer has a permanent 2pl droplet size coupled with a high-density no=
zzle head to
make it capable of printing borderless A3 photo prints in 65 seconds. Borde=
rless printing
is possible at a range of sizes from A3 down to 4x6in. A detachable CD prin=
ting unit is
provided.

For design professionals, ICC profiles are included for colour managed work=
flows. Other
features include PictBridge support for direct from camera printing and bot=
h Hi-Speed USB
2 and FireWire connections.

The Bubble Jet i9950 will be available in May for around £549 (inc. VAT).
