Jose, Thanks for the critique. I'd been feeling quite depressed after the
opening - a kind of anti climax I suppose, but I went back on Saturday and a
lot of people were standing around discussing the pictures, however, I kept
hearing 'si estan buenos, pero, treinte mille pelas..! (or something like
that!)

Congratulations Julian, on being first, but more importantly, for being
good!

Forgive me...you probably already said this...but what did you call your
prints? Did you frame under glass?

I didn't call them anything! On the Certificate of Authenticity they are
Carbon Quadtones. I just gave each picture a title in English and Spanish.
They were printed on MR, PR and Museo matted and mounted to 50x70 cm.

Is there a de facto international/global certificate of authenticity?

If one can duplicate the image (or what ever item the COA is for), why not
the certificate of authenticity too?

I've always had a bit of a tick in my neck when I hear "certificate of
authenticity"...do I need a certificate of authenticity for my certificate
of authenticity... COAs are one of those stupid human tricks in my opinion.

I got mine from a web site - can't remember which one. Bear in mind that
there is no such thing as globallaw per se.

I agree totally - it is just part of the game - I've played it this time,
but maybe not again. If a sale depends on it then why not?

Julian,

I was in no way criticizing you (or anyone...except possibly the
"originator" of the COA ;-) at all! Just the concept of "certificate of
authenticity". Anything (short of illegal or immoral that is) that helps!

Regards,

Austin

Austin,
I didn't take it that you were! COAs are like 'Artists Statements', yet
something else that some people expect that almost seems to distance them
from the photo. My COA is in English - many people here would not understand
it even!
