Digital BW, The Print

I was wondering about using my hp deskjet 5550 printer for printing 
black and white prints. I am a total beginner, just spent the money 
on a digital camera and don't have much to spend on a new printer. 
Can I do anything worthwhile on my deskjet? Also, is there a web site 
that would help with this?
