The few times I have needed to spot prints, I have used the ZIG pigment ink pens. I get them from Light Impressions (product # 9313). The set comes in five sizes of tips. Mark Maio

I've used a sharpened soft lead pencil to good effect for small spots on inkjet BW prints. The key is to rub the spot with your clean finger when you're done and the pencil lead blends in and disappears. I've also used an eraser to lightly remove too much lead I might have put down, and it works -- must be gentle though, and use a soft eraser.

And here is another suggestion. Take a reject print and put a drop of water on it, let it soak and then use a spotting brush to "lift" some of the ink off it and apply to spot on good print. Do this slowly, letting it (the good print) dry between applications.
