Hear hear brother Paul!! It's all about getting a density range of 0.05 to 
2.15 (or less when glossily enhanced) or visual equivalent under glass, in 
various shades of gray tones from paper white to Dmax of the emulsion or ink 
utilitzed at a resolution beyond what the human can detect without a loupe. 
Everything else is economics and emotional denial.
