Linux QTR2 - EP2200

Linux QTR2 - EP2200

2004-03-19 by Roger L Sopher

I recently got an Epson 2200 to replace the 860 I have been using for some
time. It installed in Fedora without a problem, I was able to pick up the
QTR PPD using Webmin and select the installed curves. BUT when I try to
print the printer icon shows momentarily and then disappears and there is no
output from the printer. Checking the error log I get a message that there
are improper printer settings.

Early in the game, with QTR beta8 there was a similar problem solved by
putting a new file, quad.conv, in the etc/cups folder. So I tried that but
no help.

At the same time I can print without problem with my 860.

Tried printing with my old beige Mac and QTR and it worked like a charm so
QTR and the printer seem just fine.

So it would seem that there is something specific to the 2200 in the Linux
QTR setup that is hanging up.

Any ideas where to look for the glitch?

Roger

Hi Roger,

Could you send me that error-log message. I'd like to see
what leads up to the error and exactly what program gets the error.

Roy
