Toned Prints with HP 7660

I am planning to purchase a HP 7660 and the black/gray/light gray #59 cartridge as an inexpensive means of printing black & white images. I am also wondering how well the HP 7660 performs when printing images that have been toned (e.g a platinum or sepia tone). I realize that in order to print a toned image, I would be using the colour cartridge in the printer, and am wondering how well the HP 7660 can print a toned image without introducing unwanted colour casts.
