Hi All: I'm strongly considering using the U2 inks in my 1280, but until I get a 2200 (am trying to decided if the product cycle means a new espon soon) for color, I need to continue to print color also on the 1280. I'm not doing enough to use a CS system. Is it feasable to use the U2, use a cleaning cart, and then the standard dye epson prints? Thanks, Jeff

You won't need a cleaning cart to go from the ut2 inks to Epson. As it's been explained to me, a couple of cleaning cycles will purge the heads. I've gone back and forth a couple of times with no ill effects. Mike

I have found switching between UT2 and Epson OEM dye inks in my 1280 to be a lot easier than I thought it would be. I have not found it necessary to use a cleaning cart after switching. I just run a nozzle check and cleaning cycle(s) if needed. Switching from UT2 to color, I usually don't even need a cleaning cycle. Switching from color to UT2 usually requires 1 or 2 cleaning cycles. I've done the "switch-a-roo" about 5 times now. no problems. -Mike jeffleeg8 writes:
