UT Curves - Stupid Questions

UT Curves - Stupid Questions

2004-05-06 by bwbonkers

Hi all

Waiting for my first batch of UT ink for 1160 to arrive and was
investigating new workflow. Here comes the stupid questions.

1) If you apply the tone curve as a layer what happens if you adjust
the opacity of the layer? Does it fine tune the tone or completely
cock it up?

2) Would I be right in saying that to get the very best quality the
curve should be applied to a 16 bit RGB image rather than 8 bit?

Many thanks in advance.

I don't know.

Yes, but it may not make a visible difference.

Buy some good, cheap matte paper and try things. Learning the materials by
experimenting is part of the fun.

Thanks Paul for your reply. One of the reasons for trying UT inks and
your workflow and Roys QTR is the fun of experimenting. Been getting
good results with Lyson Quad black inks BUT am one of those people
who is always looking for a better solution.
