workshop\teacher recommendations

Do any of you have recommendations for digital printing workshops?
I would consider myself an advanced beginner since I know PhotoShop
and some of the other related tools and software reasonably well. I
am the type of person who needs to sit in a class and do. Books work
well as a reference for me but I find I can't motivate myself to
learn that way.

Any leads on weeklong workshops that would allow me immerse myself in
digital printing techniques would be appreciated.

Thanks.

it, scan it and print it!

BA,

Are you looking for help with the Photoshop end of things or just for
the actually printing?

ConeTech does run Piezo workshops and you might want to check that
out.

Depending upon where you are, local colleges may run weekend
workshops in Photoshop for reasonable prices.

You might want to check out the workshops that Barry Hynes
conducts:
http://www.maxart.com/
I've not attended one of these workshops but
_Photoshop_6_Artistry by Barry Hynes and Wendy Crumpler
has been one of the more useful tomes I've consulted in
climbing the digital photographic learning curve.

How about the Maine Photo Workshops?

http://www.theworkshops.com/digital/index.htmlv

The ever famous John Paul Caponigro teaches there, among many, many others.

I was the 'Studio Manager' there the Summer of 1990, and I felt that the students were very happy with their
experiences. I also know that they were proponents of 'digital' very early on, so they would be up on the
latest.

Check out
Santa Fe Workshops

I took John Paul Caponigro's Photoshop Master Class last summer (not a printing workshop) and it was excellent, as were the facilities and staff.
They have listed a few printing workshops.

John Paul also teaches at the Santa Fe workshops, along with many
others...Dan Burkholder, the (Graham) Nash Editions folks, Jerry
Courvoisier, George DeWolfe, etc. Will take my first workshop there
with Mr. Caponigro very soon...can't wait!

Re: workshop\teacher recommendations

Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for workshop\teacher
recommendations. I've been directed to local resources, have gotten
ideas for workshops to take out of the area so I can immerse myself
in a subject for a week or so, people have recommended books and
links, etc.

Many thanks for sharing.
Betty
