UT2 sliders/curves difference in grayscales

Hello folks, I am using UT2 inkset with an Epson 1280. An observation I have made after using both the curves (neutral by Paul Roark) and the sliders all set to zero, is that the curve suppresses the grayscale values below 95% to almost totally black. If you hold the printed image to the light source, there is a noticeable sheen to the values starting at 96%. I prefer the color tone of the neutral curve output but the separation in the shadows of the slider output. Has anyone else noticed this also? Has there been any interest in it? Has anyone other than Paul Roark had the desire to monkey around with making adjustments to the (already graciously provided by Paul) curves? Your friend in Photography, Johnny Eades
