Neill,

I think you will find that the S stands for Silver - the color of the
revamped plastic case of the 1290S. No other difference that I know of. I
have a 1290, but not the S version.

Hi,
I have the 1290S and I find it rather plastikish and cheap made. Also there
is a plastic part in the dust cover that prevents the printer with the MIS
CFS installed from closing the cover fully. The 1160 felt more solid made.
But I might be wrong in thinking that the 1290 is more solid.

For example the 2100 is a much heavier built printer.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
