John,
>I've had a number of inquires about the 1160 that I'm selling on eBay.
>Some are asking me about the MIS inks.
>... I'm a little confused with the FS + FSN inks.
>Are these ink sets are curve and RIP free?
The FS and FSN are Piezo software compatible and can also be printed with
free curves. I recommend the new UT-FS or UT-FSN versions of this inkset.
These are state of the art.
>The UT is variable tone with curves?
The original UT (MIS Ultra Tone) inkset was and is an upgrade of the MIS VM
(for "variable mix") inkset. This variable-tone inkset is printed with free
Photoshop (or Picture Window) image adjustment curves.
The family of UT inks has now expanded to the UT2 (1280), UT7 (2200 & 7600),
and UT-FS and UT-FSN (1160 & 3000), and C82 & C84 EZ inks. These are all
based on the MIS Ultra Chrome clone inks. It's a whole family of inks.
Hope this helps.
