This whole thing sure is a lot of fun and totally cracks me up. When you 
consider that you can make some darn nice 8x10 prints for less than $1.00 each 
from an $89 printer vs. a full B&W darkroom of the past. Digital phtotography 
sure is cheap. Doesn't bode well for those making a full time living from it, in 
a sense.

Major motion pictures cost millions (sometimes hundreds of millions) but we
buy a DVD for $20. Picasso's painting are make from materials that cost a
few dollars but we pay millions to buy one. Cost of production and value
have no relationship to one another with regard to creative endeavors. This
is why the IRS no longer allows market value deductions for artists that
donate work to auctions or museums, etc.

Yeah. It's odd that the Govt. allows a tax exempt status to those 
mega-institutions who pay for that art but not to the creators of the 
art.

Reganomocs + Bushinomics = screw the artist, save the institution.
