removing old profiles from photoshop

I have some old profiles that pop-up whenever I click View>proof set-up. They are not functional , because I have trashed the profiles that were in the PS color folder. I cannot figure out how get rid of them , so they will not appear. Also, what is the best setting in the proofing box regarding black point compensation, paper white, and ink black? Thanks for any input. kevin
