I cant solve the Microbanding problem! ive tried alot and hav no idea
wat else i can do!
her is a pic of what comes out of my printer on epson matte
heavyweight paper at 1440dpi with pauls carbon curve
http://www.jsfotografie.de/epson.jpg its heavyly oversharpend but i
guess you can see the bandings very good... what i find strange is
that if you take a very close look at the right side after the big
ugly band there is no banding! ARGGGG and the guys ofer at MIS dont
answer me if i got a bad cart

I would not try to fix this sort of problem, in my opinion it's a waste of
time. These are desktop printers (I handle issues on my wide format
professional printer quite differently) and are not designed for the quality
demands you require. My first step would be to have the printer replaced by
Epson or if not under warrantee, sell it on eBay, buy a new printer. If the
new printer is not perfect first time, return it to Epson. Do this until you
get a perfect printer. I once struggled with a printer for weeks, then
finally returned it to Epson, they sent me a new printer, and it printed
perfectly right out of the box.

Are all the lines on the nozzle check perfectly lined up? If any are
slightly out of alignment get a new printer or printhead.

Could be some kind of ink starvation. A bad cart is my guess. Have you printed with Epson
carts to confirm it's not the carts?

Look at your cleaning carts and see if they have chips on them. (and
hope they do) If you put a cart without a chip into a 1280/1290 it
will bend the pins that make the connection to the cart and your
printer will never register any cart being in place ever again. That's
the red light signal. If you are in that unfortunate position, and
under warranty, Epson will do a warranty replacement. Just don't tell
them what happened, play dumb. I was honest with them and they
replaced mine but it is a clear case of a 3rd party product damaging
the printer. If you printer is not under warranty, I'm so sorry for you.

My cleaning cart that was missing the chip and killed my first 1280
came from vendor other than MIS. My settlement with them includes my
commitment not to publicly badmouth them. Just say, I've only done
business with MIS since then.

BTW, it sounds like you just had a bad MIS cart. They will send you
another if you ask.
