Help getting set up with QTR on 2200

2004-07-10 by jhaneyzz

I just sent a message to Roy but I thought I would ask here as well.

I am fed up with Piezography Inks going bad on me and have decided to pursue QTR with
MIS UT inkset as an alternative.

I installed last night and ordered the UT set from MIS which should show up tomorrow
(Saturday Delivery because I am in a bind getting a job printed)

The install went very smoothly, but I don't quite understand what to do next.
I don't see any curves or obvious print settings for printing with this combination in the
documentation or on the MIS website. I would think that if MIS has custom mixed inks for
QTR that there would be existing curves for me to print with available at MIS,
harrington.com, or in the install.

I have a 2200 with MIS UT inks and want to print on Hanemuhle Photo Rag,
William Turner, and EEM. What do I need to do next? FInd the curves, create my own, (don't
really understand how.)

Not to discourage you, but the only inkset I ever had go bad on me was
an MIS quad set, which turned to sludge. MIS said it was bacteria.
Well, ok, but I have two other inksets here in two other printers, and
all three had CISes and they're all three in the exactly the same
location, stacked on shelves. The other two are Generations and
Fotonics. Generations I've used for years with no problem. Fotonics
has been sitting there at least a year. And I used Piezo inks when
they first came out, in fact went to MIS after them because the piezos
were, at that time, at least, so expensive. But I went through a whole
set of them first, and the set of MIS didn't last even that long.
