RE: Artist's opportunity

Dunno about the opportunity itself, but I can vouch for the fellow's claim that hotels do indeed charge. I worked off and on in the industry for better than 10 years, including a 5 year stint at a 4 star hotel in Boston, and can confirm that we in fact charged a colossal fee for the robes (whether asked and paid for or merely lifted from the room). Ditto the honor bar; cleaning it out and failing to notify the desk upon departure didn't mean ya gots the stuff for free. We didn't charge for towels and ashtrays...too hard to inventory. But anything significant was charged to the card. But I definitely agree that there will be damage and theft. The number of stars a joint gets has little to do with the nutbags that check in and do indeed wander off with furniture, linens, phones, bellmen...
