Original MIS QUADtones vs. EBONI black

Hello I am a low-volume printer and I don't care about variable-tone printing. Some time ago I quit using the Original MIS Quadtones and gave MIS EBONI Black (in a prefilled cartridge) a try using MIS ARC-SO20089-QUT "3-Color" for variable-tone prints (EPSON 1160 / EPSON Archival Matte). BO printing is fine (apart from slight microbanding from time to time, which I can cure with MIS's (black) purge pattern on top of running 1 or two cleaning cycles and of course the inevitable "dottiness", which in most cases isn't a problem for me at all): But: using Paul Roarks curves, I am not at all pleased with the results, because the "hue" ist not constant over the density curve. I am getting a bluish/greenish tint in the higher zones with the nc-curve etc., wheras the lower zones in the same curve are fine. Anyway.I am sure it's got nothing to to do with Paul Roarks curves whatsoever, but perhaps rather with the fact that I am a low volume printer and that after a certain lapse of time the "color"-inks are not fresh enough any longer to do their job properly. So I have decided to go back to the non variable-tone print technique I once had with the original MIS QUAD-tone inks. And here is my question: Is there an Eboni-black based inkset which technologywise is the equivalent of the Original MIS Quadtone inks??? (i.e. shades of gray in the "color" cartridge (75/50/25)being (clear-solvent) dilutions of the 100%Ebony K)or am I to buy either the FS or FSN inks from the "UltraTone Ink Family". And where could I see the difference between the two hues, please. Thanks a lot for your help and info Chatzebussi
