Digital BW, The Print

Hello All,

I don't know how many of us in this group live near or are planning 
to visit Myrtle Beach, SC before the end of October; but there is an 
exhibit of 50 of Ansel Adams images on display starting Friday of 
this week at Burroughs-Chapin Museum of Art at 3100 South Ocean 
Boulevard till October 31 of this year. If you can, please visit and 
be inspired by his photographs. I saw them in Atlanta last year and 
plan to see this exhibit at least once a week till it leaves. I live 
about 2 hours away from there. This is the website for the museum of

I second the motion to seek out this exhibition if possible. I saw it
at our local science museum a couple of years ago. I went back
three times during the week when no one else was there. Not
even any docents. Just me and Ansel ;-).  Really something to see.

David H. Gibson's BW exhibition (search under valley house, but the 
web pics truly don't do the prints justice) is also unbelievable. 
There are clouds and light streams that literally come out of
the plane of the print!

These are always in my mind when I ask myself whether my 
quadtone prints are any good.

A great show I saw several years ago at a small Museum in West Texas 
(Abilene).  As I recall the show contains many vintage prints from 
Ansel's early year's, from negatives that were destroyed in a fire; 
they are simply beautiful.
