R800 Gloss Optimizer and QTR

Looks like MIS may soon be selling aftermarket cartridges for the R800. Presumably, as a result, they could also sell the gloss either in bottles or in a cartridge for, say, the Epson 2200. Could one then use QTR to deploy this gloss in a 2200? How does it go on in the R800? Does it have to be applied after the actual inks in a trailing sweep fashion or does it get laid down along with everything else? If the former, can this be managed by QTR?
