Has anyone around here used QTR with Cone carbon inks as
the primary driver, and if so what has been your experience?
Could I just use this driver and order the inks from Cone ( saving
$700.00) or is that a really stupid idea? You may answer privately
if you like at - deanwork@... or here ...

I use this combination on a 1280 and it works well, as well or better
than the ICC profiles for me.

Yes used QTR/Piezotone with two 1160s - with Neutral and Warm inks. Excellent output -
better than the Piezotone driver as QTR can be tweaked to place more in on the paper and
has better dither than the Piezotone driver to name a few pluses.
You would have to build your own profiles as I think I remember you'd like to run a 7000
and/or 7600...correct?

Good. I appreciate that info.
What is involved with profiling for a 7000? I usually have my
profiles for color done at Profile City and I do not have McBeth or
any specialized sofware to make custom profiles. Is that
necessary for that approach or is there somewhere to find
generic profiles for such a purpose? How complex was that for
you?
