VM curves with UT1

VM curves with UT1

2004-08-02 by Richard Smallfield

Hi,
I'm using a 1200 with UT1 inks and I find that the curves often give prints paler than what was on the screen - this is especially so with the warmer curves. On the same paper, with my HP 7660, I get exactly what is on the screen.

I plan to make transfer curves to hopefully fix this, but wondered if someone else has already done it and could share the curves with me?

thanks,
Richard

Richard,

Can you elaborate on the method used with your 7660?
I am interested in what paper you are using.

Sorry if I was vague, I was just referring to printing in greyscale on the HP. For cheap prints I use Kodak and for better ones I use HP Colourfast glossy.

However, a friend of mine fade tested the HP with PhotoRag and thought it stood up very well - the print became more neutral if anything, after (I believe) a couple of months in his sunny window.

I will have to test this myself.

thanks,
