Stephen, Now on version 0.9 already. Roll Feed. Number of copies. Installer. Settings transferred. Incredible, thank you. Is it already time that we can ask for some features ?-) Width units displayed. Choice for deleting the files in the "processed folder" or adding a higher number to the name for each successful printrun. "Greyscale" RGB>Greyscale converter in the input folder that recognises "Greyscale" RGB TIFFs (or as an alternative in the "processed" folder when the choice is to not delete the files. The last gives probably a faster workflow for everyone. Depends on how fast the converter is and how fast QTR gets its greyscale data from the RGB file. Ernst

At least that happened on my setup, not on the one my friend has. But he complained that the Roll Feed setting doesn't work :-) When the "curve" error is stopped the printrun is done however but I can't check whether the curves are actually used. "Dry" print setup .... So the error may be triggered for the right reasons or not. Ernst

Roy informs me that Roll Feed does not work yet on QuadToneRIP. Use it at your own risk. Thanks for the note. I have width units implemented, but I don't know if they work. Have you tried centimeters? The :higher number" sounds like a good idea. I don't want to get into image processing. This is just a front end. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen

The roll feed is broken in QuadToneRIP. Roy will get it working. I've been working on making the curves setting work better, that may fix your problem. Haven't released this version yet. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen

I know someone who could write a utility to do that work on the files in the processed map or on another map with the output to QTRgui. With a stopwatch it must be possible to measure what is the fastest solution. The Qimage-QTR workflow needs more tinkering than I expected. But it will work in the end. Ernst

Stephen, you wrote: > Roy informs me that Roll Feed does not work yet on QuadToneRIP. Use it at > your own risk. Bit expensive those 40 feet rolls that are running out of the printer because they are seen as sheets :-) > I have width units implemented, but I don't know if they work. I mean either a choice of units but at least the unit that is used displayed in the menu of QTRgui even if it has to be set in the script. Filling in a number without the unit seen is like voting in the dark. I'm a mm man, the rest uses inches :-) > The :higher number" sounds like a good idea. Preferably at the start of the name, Qimage uses 001 etc at the end for multiple pages and that will get in conflict otherwise. The number at the start also gives a good sorting of the printruns. I would have asked Mike of Qimage for a similar numbering of print to file names + the same number in the print to file logfile but it looks like I never get a request "answered" there. There are Qimage users that are more equal than others especially the court clowns. Ernst

Hello Steve, i just want to be one of the many who want to say thanks for the fine job you have done on the front end for QTR. Without your able assistance a good many of us would not have been as quick to catch on as we all seem to have done. Both you and Roy are "Digital Angels" who have come to our aid. Thanks again. Well then, ask him to write it so that it monitors a folder, does the conversion and places it in a different folder. Then Qimage can print to the conversion folder and the conversion program can put it in the folder QTRgui is watching. However, I suspect that all this would be a waste of time. Unless the file is already a gray tone, I doubt that any of the work flow will be faster after the conversion. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen
