Ha ha - when did they tell you that? They said the same to me several months
ago when I experienced my first Entrada flaking fiasco.

In the last month or so I just tried a new box (experimenting with a
"budget" paper for an artist to do lower cost copies on). This was with
Epson UC inks

First few sheets - after what I consider to be a pretty good
brushing/cleaning before printing - come out of the printer - see a few
specks after I pick it up. gently brush my hand across it, more specks - I
blow across the paper a couple of times and there are now, literally, dozens
of specks flaked off. Looks like someone with really bad dandruff just
brushed their hair over the print...

It was basically the same for both the natural and the bright. As it stands
right now, the paper doesn't even seem to be able to take the most basic of
handling (i.e. taking it out of the printer tray).

The natural especially would be a really really nice paper if they could
just fix the coating/flaking problem. But so far I don't see any evidence
they have even come close yet.

Tim,

Are you running the paper straight through or via the normal paper path. I
had a lot of problems with Entrada until I started using the straight paper
path (2200), and, of course going through the rolling, wiping, rolling and
wiping routine first - nice look but a real pain to use - lots of
reprinting. And the economy of using it is really hurt by the reprints
needed until I achieve a reasonably stable result.

I just received a new load of Entrada Natural on August 10 or so.
Both 11x17 sheets and 13x19 sheets. I give them a fairly good rubbing
with the soft cotton T-shirt routine and then print. I have had
flaking on one print but the other 40 or so prints have not suffered
from the flaking described here. Maybe I got the new batch! Whatever,
I am enjoying this paper very much .... so far. I haven't tried the
Bright White though.
