Digital BW, The Print

I'm looking for an inexpensive printer for black only.  The Epson C84 
looks interesting, because of the picoliter size.  Any comments on 
this printer regarding metamerism, etc?  Any other suggestions for a 
printer?  I am presently using a 1280, but want to see if I can do 
better.  (I like Epson).  Thanks in advance.

Isn't the C84/86 a step backward from the 1280?  I've read here that 
the 1280 and 2200 are pretty much the same in Black Only.  And if 
you're talking about Black Only, you're all fixed up.

Or maybe I'm missing something here...
