no black

I have been printing away with the UT2 inkset on an epson 1280 for so long now-trouble free and I was just the last test print away from commiting the image to a good sheet of EVA -but 1/3 into the test -suddenly- a few spatters of black ink on the edges and no black ink at all- print nozzle check (twice-hope against hope) no black... I forget what's this mean? bad cart??clog?? someone tell me the bitter truth...sob Jack
