To Koloshor: about your densitometer

Koloshor, About your 414 densitometer again, if I may. You wrote: "my particular X-rite (414) cannot combine its cyan, magenta, and yellow readings to give you a black and white reading, so I usually just read the magenta channel and call that "density". However, when I read the PDF manual of your 414, it says that, besides C, M and Y, it also can show the "V" or "Visual" value which, I guess, is for measuring density (I asked X-rite about this "V" and they replied: Visual is the neutral reporting of Status T,E,G densitometry it is not a pure average of the 3 colors but a weighting of the results based on ANSI/ISO specifications). So why not use this V instead of M as you do? I ask you all this because I'm really having a hard time deciding which densitometer I should buy. Thanks in advance, I g o r
