Epson Enhanced Matte vs. Smooth Fineart

Epson Enhanced Matte vs. Smooth Fineart

2004-10-08 by sparrehakon

I do my testprints on Enhanced Matte (Epson9600) because of the price.
My finalprint will be on the Smooth fineartpaper.
I find it difficult to get the same contrast and deep black
(ultrachrome ink) as on the E. Matte paper.
Any suggestions for adjusting picture or settings? (I use the
Atkinson profiles)

I do pretty much the same thing with a 4000 using image print.

Nothing gets the measured dmax of EEM for me, but USFA looks nearly
the same because it it is warmer and I move the IP tone slider up 10
from neutral to add a bit more warmth.

If you test with a densitometer, you will never get the same from
what I can tell.
