QTRGui not retaining page sizes

QTRGui not retaining page sizes

2004-10-16 by ferdinand_paris

Stephen

I've noticed that in the current version of QTRGui, all the settings
from the last session are saved, except page size, which is always
reset to the size at the top of the list - Letter. I print on A4 or
A3. Not a major issue, provided I remember to reset it each time I
open QTRGui. I thought an earlier version retained this setting, but
perhaps I am wrong (getting old and the memory is going - it's why I
need a camera).

Yes, I know of this one. I have a new version that is in the works that
fixes this, but I have been chasing another problem that has delayed the
release. The problem is now identified, doesn't impact many people, exists
in version 0.26 as well. So, if I can't find a solution quickly, I will post
an update with the rest of the changes I have been working on.

RE: [Digital BW] QTRGui not retaining page sizes

Version 0.27 is now uploaded to www.sbillard.org\Shareware\QTRgui.htm

In addition to fixing this problem and a few others that were reported
privately, version 0.27 adds a most recently used image list and some
optional control to QTRgui's behavior.

Stepehn,

just a quick note, your links come out wrong, forward and backslashes
confused and it's not respecting the capital on Shareware and QTR.

I'm using Mozilla 1.7 if that's relevant

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. The direction of the slashes
does not matter. The capitalization is the way the site is hosted. It is on
a Unix based site, so capitalization matters.

Anyway, the link works for me using I.E. Works no matter which way the
slashes go. I can even mix the slashes. Seems Mozilla is doing something
strange.

Hi Stephen,

when I click on the link I get this from out of the mail in Mozilla.

http://www.sbillard.org\shareware\qtrgui.htm/

IE may be doing something totally different and Mozilla may be doing
something curious as I've not noticed anyone else commenting on this,
that's why I mentioned that I'm using Mozilla.

I'm used to Unix and it's precision, or more specificially SGI IRIX.

I don't know what to tell you. That's not the way the link looks in the
posting! So, either your mail program is changing it or Mozilla is changing
it. Anyway, as you are aware, it won't work if it is shifted to lower case.

Stephen,

the direction of the slashes is important in Mozilla and FireFox
browsers. If you use backslashes, then the URL
http://www.sbillard.org\Shareware\QTRgui will be interpreted as
http://www.sbillard.org/shareware/qtrgui.htm and this URL
is not correct at your site. No big deal, but interesting. By the way:
Opera has no problems with backslashes in URLs.

Ronald

Path separators in an URL should be forward slashes. Backslashes are
only valid in a windows path which is probably why IE allows them. It
will break for everyone else though.

Well, reading the post directly from yahoo groups using firefox, the
original post had only: "www.sbillard.org\Shareware\QTRgui.htm"
without the http://. I copied the address and pasted it into the
address bar and it worked fine. It translated the slashes to / left
the capitalization alone and added the http://. So what Stephen posted
worked fine for me.
