Lyson digital darkroom prints

2004-11-08 by steveabrink

Hi, has anyone seen prints or possibly used the new Lyson Digital
Darkroom kit which consists of the quad+ black inks and printer
driver? I'm especially interested in results for the Darkroom Glossy
paper... And, how do they compare with ultrachrome IP prints...? I
was looking at some of my old fiber glossy prints the other day and
really miss some of the qualties they have as compared to my current
matte inkjet prints. I also only saw 8.5x11 in paper size on their
website for the 2200 and hope they come out with 17 in. roll for the
4000...
Thanks in advance,
Steve B

Ask Lyson to send you samples. Then look at them under both tungsten and daylight
illumination. See if they warm up significantly under tungsten.

Re: [Digital BW] Lyson digital darkroom prints

I requested a sample print from Lyson USA a couple of weeks ago but
haven't received it yet. I did try the Quad Black inks in my 1270 with
Darkroom Gloss. The prints are neutral in daylight, but reddish/purple
under incandescent light. I don't know if they have managed to defeat
the Quad Black metamerism with the new inkset. The latter is just four
of same quad black inks plus three toner inks (CMY) from the small
gamut inkset.

Steve,

I am expecting a Daylight Darkroom system from Lyson any day now. They are
sending units to select dealers to test. I will post results when I have
them. In the meantime, you can get more information at
