QTR 2.1 Margins

QTR 2.1 Margins

2004-11-10 by James Haney

I apologize for asking a question without first doing a bit of
research, but I recently upgraded from QTR 2.0 to 2.1 on the Mac.

I am noticing that the old QTR provided me with a print dialog box for
letter size paper with virtually zero margin, while the 2.1 driver has
rather generous margins. This is making printing christmas cards out of
Illustrator rather difficult as my printable area is too small.

I have continued to use the originally defined printers under 2.0 for
this printing.

Is there something I can do to get wider margins with 2.1?

What Roy has done makes sense. Take a read through the readme associated
with this on his site. Because the printer makes one margin (I think the
leading one) bigger than the other, the printable area is not the same as,
nor centred in, the page. There are now two selections per page size. One
as before. And one centred so that the printable area is centred on the
page. This leads to a slightly smaller printable area because the trailing
edge is limited to equal the leading edge. If you want the image properly
centred then you need to select this one.
