replacing pump assembly on Ep.7000 - wire to the main board

I'm replacing the maintenance kit, on the 7000. Including the head parking pad assembly, and the pump assembly with its hoses. When I remove the pump motor harness to replace the pump, do you unplug the wire to the mainboard or is it permanently connteted to the board? It looks to me like the wire to the board is very long and clipped, and folded to the assembly. Looks like I could pull this pump - capping station assembly out and work on it beside the printer......????
