Profile for Hahnemuhle Photorag paper

2004-11-09 by adolphamster

I have been using Epson Heavyweight Matte paper with my Epson 1280
printer and UT2/MIS inks. I now want to try changing to Hahnemuhle
Photo Rag, smooth surface paper. Do I need another paper profile? If
so, how can I get one? Or is the profile used for the Epson paper
close enough?

Hahnemuhle's web site has them available for download.

There are specific curves for UT2 and Hahnemuhle PhotoRag. You can download
them from my website or from MIS's.

Thank you once again for your prompt help. I am perplexed. I found the
files and followed your instructions (several times) with the
following results:

When I tried to "save as" in Netscape, the only choice was "all
files". I did that, but when I went to the folder in which I'd saved
the files, true enough, they were listed with acv file types but under
"file type" in the directory it still said htm.

I then tried the same thing in Explorer. I had almost the same result.
When I went to save it I did have the option of changing from htm to
"all types", but the end result was the same.

I've not had this problem previously so, it is likely I'm doing
something wrong. Can you help once again?

Thank you.

Downloating curves -- was Profile for Hahnemuhle Photorag paper

I can't replicate the problem on my system.

When I download a curve using the instructions on my web page the file type
in my Windows Explorer shows "ACV file." Be sure you are replacing the
"htm" with "acv" by typing it into the name, with "All Files" showing in the
file type box below the name in the "Save as" box.

Let me know if I'm missing something here.

I found the problem - it came to me about 9pm last night. I had my
computer/Windows 2000 set so that a list of files in a directory would
not show the file types. What did not alert me to the problem was
that the profiles in question ended with ".acv". I automatically
presumed that was the file type.Of course, as soon as I changed to
show all the file types, I saw the .html after .acv. I then followed
your instructions and, of course, everything worked just as you had
described.

I do have a question, though: the new files end with .acv.acv. Are both
necessary?

Thank you.

'Dolph,

Just one ".acv" extension is what you want.
