Stephen Billard's latest version of QTRGui allows PC users to set even
more of the QTR options that exist in the PPD file (Epson 2100/2200).

There are a couple that I don't understand, and can't find the answer
in any documentation.

I don't understand what the media type setting does that the curves
don't.  I would have thought that by choosing the two curves and the
blend %, I would be telling QTR all that it needed to know about the
paper.  What effect does the "Media Type" setting have?

Related to this, is there any reason why semi-gloss (or smooth pearl
for ilford users) not listed as one of the media types?

Also, roll paper is a new option in QTRGui.  I did't think that this
was supported in PC QTRGui 2.0 beta 3.  Will this option work, or are
we still waiting, and QTRGui is just a little ahead of the game?

The Media Type settings are hold overs from the gimp-print code.
For the most part they don't have much effect.  But there some Pro
printers which can take info such as vacuum strength, platen gap,
paper thickness.  I have had time to check for any noticeable effect
so I've just left them in.  I personally always use matte papers and
always select Matte for the Media Type.

Roll paper is only supported in the 2.1 release.  The Mac has it now,
PC will shortly.  I've been working with Stephen about QTRgui for
the next release so it may have some things that are already for 2.1.
