I have an Epson 4000 purchased before it was available with the
ColorBurst RIP. I would appreciate any advice/opinions on whether I
should add this on, and which version-LE or X. I print both color and
B&W both for commercial as well as art purposes. Thanks!

Darryll,

If you're going to buy the Colorburst RIP, buy the full version. The LE
version that comes with the 4000 only works with Epson media.

The LE version is a bit too limited in my opinion, especially if you plan on using any non-Epson papers. Spring for the full version. It is only a little more and offers a lot more in terms of flexibility. I own the full version (X-Proof) and am very happy with it.

Has anyone used UT-7 inkset on the epson 4000, (with the addition of
matte black in position 8) using either IJC/OPM or MIS curves(thanks
paul/bill)? All the curves(Roark) or RIP's(IJC)seem to mention
epsonn2200/7600, but not epson 4000.
Do either support epson premium semimatte paper or do I substitute a
similar paper profile?

Thank you,

Jason
