After taking over 80,000 images with them, and printing a few to 30x40, I'm convinced that they had the best overall performance over the rest of the pack including the Canon D-60, 10d, and Sigma SD-9. From a Portrait/Wedding perspective. The native resolution of the sensor was 6 megapixels and that camera setting yielded the lowest noise/smalles JPG with the same sharpness as the 12 megapixel setting, proven by big Epson prints. So, I think Fuji has managed to squeze more perfomance out of CCD's than anyone else out there. So, in my prior posts, I didn't mean to imply that I didn't LIKE the Fuji solution, but it's true that at 12 Mpx, it's 5/6 interpolated (not always a bad thing). Can't wait to get my hands on an S3. I always try to learn something when I get sucked in to those kinds of replies. BTW, the Canon Mk II is my most recent acquisition (25th digital camera in 9 years) and, so far, the best all around camera I have ever owned (I still have a Dicomed Scan back for the resolution freak in me). I do earn a living printing and selling lots of people pictures, so my arguments are not strictly academic. Claude [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
