Scanning Glass Negatives.

I found a box of glass 4 1/4 X 6 1/2 studio portrait slides from the early 1900s in a yard sale. Any recomendations on scanning them? I am using a Canon Canoscan 8400F. Can you suggest any online information sources on digitizing glass negatives? Ray
