Shooting for the stars Addendum

Hi all,

You know what? Apparently printing is not the problem at hand here.
It's my B&W conversion methodology. I went to the
http://www.alennox.net website, and screen capped that B&W image to
print it and see if I could reproduce the tonality in the image.
Sure enough, the R800 did it with no problem whatsoever. That only
says one thing to me; as mentioned above, the issue lies in the
manner in which I convert color images to B&W.

Once again, even though my request is slightly off-topic with
regards to the fact that printing is not the issue here, if anyone
has any suggestions/recommendations for getting the absolutely
gorgeous gray tones in images like the one on the website, I would
still be eternally grateful. Oh, BTW, I shoot with a Canon Digital
Rebel, and I also have a Canon Rebel S II film camera.

Thanks again,

Laurence M. Schwarz
