QTR OS10 Panther 2200 Print Speed

QTR OS10 Panther 2200 Print Speed

2005-01-06 by Shilesh Jani

Hey All,

I am helping a friend set up his system, and the fisrt print is great! He is truly impressed
with it, particularly after months of struggles with another system.

Although the print is great, I am surprised at the slow print speed. I am myself used to
QTR in Win Xp, and my prints are much faster.

Are we doing anything wrong?

Shilesh

Using the parallel cable to USB cable that ships with the printer?

I borrowed my brother's 2200 about six months ago for a short run of
color, and installed what he gave me. I was appalled at the slow print
speed. Replace the printer cable with an actual USB cable and got a 10x
increase in print speed.

Of course, there are many possible ways to slow down a printer; this is
just one, so YMMV.
