Michael,

I'm definitely interested in good "glossy" papers, but virtually all I see
aside from the Epson Premium group and Costco are obviously acidic and will
not last. The vast majority of other RC papers also have horrible bronzing.

Do you have third-party accelerated aging tests that show the paper will
last for ">200 years"? Can you represent that they are acid free?

I understand that most people probably don't care. After all, Ilford glossy
papers are very popular -- great dmax and reasonably priced. However, we've
lost a whole generation of color prints due to them self-destructing. What
the market really needs is cheap paper that looks good and will last.

We have great luster and semi-matte papers available in all sheet sizes.
Sample packs are available.

For a paper with more "sheen," the Premium Semigloss might do it. Many like

Luster, but I prefer the Semigloss and Semimatte, which for some reason is

only available in rolls.

Scott,

I think Ilford acquired Ciba, which may have been what is now referred to as
the Swiss part of Ilford, and the part that makes the coated inkjet papers.

Paul, it was more the other way around. Ciba(-Geigy) acquired
Ilford and later Ilford was split off again taking with it the
Cibachrome/Ilfachrome part that was situated in Switzerland. Ciba
is a much larger international chemical group than Ilford ever
was, the farmaceutical group Novartis is related to it. My guess
is that the Swiss part kept close relations with Ciba and used
their inkjet technology for the Ilford dye and pigment inks +
paper coatings. The Swiss - inkjet part of Ilford is also the
healthy part of Ilford, the English part was more in the analogue
film and paper business and at something like chapter 11. Ilford
is a NE area of London.

If you ever intend to mix more than liters you better phone them.

There's a huge coating company in Switzerland that may be part of
Sihl but at least Sihl get their papers coated their. Rumour had
it that Hahnemuhle also had their papers coated there. So it
doesn't have to be Ilford in Swiss that makes the paper discussed.
