Digital BW, The Print

I have never tried any inks on my 2200 other than the UC inkset.  I 
have heard a lot about MIS Eboni Black.  

What makes it so special?  How is it better than the Epson UC mk?  
Better Dmax?

It is relatively neutral, whereas the Epson MK is very warm.

Of course, MIS inks are also much cheaper, especially when one loads
easy-refill carts from bulk, 4 oz. bottles.

The relative dmax will vary with printer and paper.  In most of the printers
I've used over the last year or so the Epson MK had a slightly higher dmax,
but the MIS Eboni looked darker due to the more neutral tone.  (In the 4000
test strips I've seen, the difference appears to be too much for the more
neutral tone to overcome.)

Hope this helps.  It's a bit subjective and dependent on the types of images
you print.
