Book making service

2005-01-10 by Mark Savoia

I know there has been lots of talk in the past about publishing or
making a book of one's own work but I never heard this company
mentioned. It is called Lulu. I have not tried them, or read all the
small print yet, but it looks like the best part is you can do your
layout in ANY layout program and just send them a PDF. Prices seem
reasonable and they allow you to sell the final books, if you wish, on
their web site (with them getting a cut, of course). Offer different
binding options too. Here is the link:

Shutterfly has some amazingly nice quality books for only around $35 -
you post your images online and then design your pages and type. They
are also quite fast.

Book making service

Steve, I did order a book and was very impressed, especially for the
price. Maybe the color wasn't right on every time , and you have little
control over cropping (though you can see it in the preview), but if
you look at it as you would ordering machine prints, it's pretty good.

I've had good results with:
http://www.mypublisher.com/default.php

Their layout tool is very flexible.
Color matching isn't bad.
Materials quality was very good.
I've done a couple of books through them
and delivery is wicked quick.
Cheers,
JimD

really?

What they sent me was absolute garbage - I sent everything back to them and
had to fight for a refund. Terrible printing, wrong coloured covers etc etc.
