You apply the powdered bras after printing ? Is that correct ?

  This is a variation on a trick we use with laser printers. It works with some inks, but I haven't ever tried it with ultrachrome. If it works, it goes something like this...

  Build a QTR curve to print in only yellow, on a matte paper, using about twice as much ink as you need. Then apply powdered brass or aluminum and heat. You can get metalic transfer paper which is pre-coated with powdered metals. Apply it to the print in a heat press or with an iron.

Yes. Apply the powder, heat press or iron it, then shake the powder off the paper. Where's there's ink, it sticks. Where's there's no ink, it doesn't.

This works better with some inks than others. And the ink won't pick up as much powder as laser toner will, which is why you want to print heavy, but with a light ink color. It might be worth trying this MIS "glop" that folks have been yalking about. Supposedly, it takes a while to dry, which means you could apply the powder cold. And it's clear, so it won't add its own color to the powder.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
