Did the saliva test and I still don't know which is the printing side

2005-01-27 by luisvcool

Hi. I am using PremierArt 500g single-sided paper. I put saliva on
my fingers and squeezed a corner and I can't tell which side is
stickier. I also printed on both sides of the paper and I can't tell
which is the printing side.

Could someone please give me a solution?

Thank you.

Wet your lips slightly, pull the paper through them, the side that
sticks is the printable side.

I read on this list awhile back about a way to determine print side
that I use now because it is very positive: Use a 4 or 5 power lupe
to closely inspect both sides of the paper- the back side-non-
printing side- should show paper fibers or a fine screen impression;
the print side should be smoother and you may see something that
looks like a clay coating. It is difficult with fine thick paper to
use the lip test because both sides are absorbent.

After making out with the paper a few times (lol), I called the
company that sent me the paper and we kind of figured out which was
the printable side.

Thanks.
